"The Arctic Monkeys won the £20,000 prize for best album of the year at this year's Mercury Music Award ceremony. All twelve contenders, including Scritti Politti, Muse, Sway and Thom Yorks, appeared at the Grosvenor House Great Room which was televised for the BBC. The organisers were able to re-use the stretched vinyl mesh stage sets that Rutters produced for the previous year's ceremony."
